A couple of months ago Machine and Silo found themselves landing international artists on the same night in Melbourne. And whilst Melbourne is big enough and strong enough to cope with that, it also meant many of our folk were torn between two great artists, and two great events. Some said at the time: “why didn’t you join together and deliver one great party?”.
Since then we have been in communication to the effect that this month we have joined forces to share a venue for one night of combined, unified goodness to bring you wunderkind German Producer/Dj KOBOSIL.
And we love this aspect of Melbourne. Whilst there are individual crews who all hold true to unique styles and approaches, there is also an openness to come together for the good of all. This requires a willingness to step outside of that chief capitalist urge to possess and own, and into something that ultimately we all say we want, but sometimes fall short of: to share.
With that in mind we bring you the best of both entities under the one roof of My Aeon. Machine artists and Silo artists, their crew and our crew, our crew and their crew, us and them, them and us…we. All of us.
Enough of that; the main thing is that we have KOBOSIL, u, paying for a minimum of 3 hours. Whoops, excuse me while I wipe the drool from my mouth... here’s a little something from his bio to activate your saliva glands:
"Simultaneously Kobosil introduced his dj sets as clubs started booking him on the strength of his first two releases alone and reports of fresh, no bars techno, informed by a whole range of electronic music styles, skilled mixing and well constructed sets followed. Kobosil had arrived and it wasn't long before he made his debut on the Berghain Klubnacht floor. Hailing from Neukölln, Berlin, the only 22 year old Kobosil combines his talent with trained instruction, just about to finish a BA in audio production, which he studies since 2010, this young producer knows his stuff. An avid vinyl collector, he has an almost nostalgic, passionate approach to music, combined with a truly futuristic outlook on where techno is heading. Deeply rooted in classic origins but reinvigorated and pushing sound frontiers and limits."
Kobosil has releases on Ostgut Ton the infamous label owned and run by Berghain in Berlin, and Marcel Dettmans MDR label. Which would be why the techno world is currently propped up like a bunch of meercats awaiting his next delivery.
